The Secret
The Secret presents the most compelling and accessible case I've ever seen for assuming a radical responsibility for your own experience. If you are very new to ideas related to conscious creation, then The Secret is a great place to start. If you are a looking for a way to introduce a friend or family member to the law of attraction and related principles, showing them The Secret is a well-tested approach.
The movie is a combination of short clips of speakers addressing the camera, and dramatizations of what’s being described. The speakers are recorded on blue-screened into backgrounds that relate to their topic or background. The dramatizations fade in and out to illustrate specific points. The production values are high for a non-fiction, self-help kind of movie, and all of the different speakers and dramatizations flow together smoothly.

Two Versions of The Secret?
The Secret currently for sale is not the version originally released. Esther Hicks, whose work inspired most of the other speakers, and was the original foundation for the movie itself, was edited out after the original release. For one view of how and why that happened, see this youtube video:

I personally find this version with Esther to offer more information. In particular, it includes some ideas about the nature or our emotional guidance system and our relationship to the non-physical world which did not make it into the current version.
